  1. Met with Trumbull IM Secretaries; they will still punish us
  2. We did really well last week!
  3. We need people for tennis!
  4. Tomorrow is THE cross-country meet – only 1.5 mile for girls…everyone go out!
YCC
  1. Job Shadowing, October 30
  2. Will be bigger than last year!
  3. Apply for Spring Fling committee by this Friday
  4. Bike Share bikes will be on campus by October 17
STEP
  1. We want to reduce waste!
  2. Project: get a set of dishes that people can check out to use for parties, events (to reduce use of disposable plates).  Any thoughts/ideas?
  3. Use compostable cups/plates
  4. Want a reusable tote bag with a cute logo (ie. Branford logo with recycling sign around it)
  5. STEP wants to host a sustainable tailgate at Brown game on November 7
  6. STEP Study Break next week
Spirit Committee Update

  1. Just had inaugural meeting of the Spirit Committee
  2. Create and sell a funny shirt for Harvard-Yale game, possibly make money
  3. Beanie, rainjackets, boxers, blankets
  4. JE Challenges – I’ll give you $10 if you go to the JE Dining Hall and accidentally throw your food!
  5. Get a flagpole
  6. Get a full body squirrel costume
  7. All future Spirit Committee meetings will take place in God Quad (permission permitting from Andy’s suitemates)
Community Service Committee

  1. October 17th, 2009 – Apple Picking
Branford Life Committee
  1. Cards for custodial staff
  2. Banner for Dining Staff
  3. Some kind of food involved
  4. Aim to do this sometime in November, either before or after Thanksgiving break
YCC 5 Minute Forum for 5k funding

  1. YCC will collect ideas for the next week, see what’s feasible
  2. Ideas from the past: more patio furniture on cross campus, small student lounge, Bass DVD Library, BikeShare
  3. Ideas from Branford: gazebo, ice skates, more patio furniture on cross campus, give college library access to ALL students and secure access to college by putting locks on
  4. Email Adam (adam.thomas@yale.edu), Jia (jia.huang@yale.edu), or Guillermo (guillermo.peralta@yale.edu) with more ideas!
Movie Night

  1. Another night in October
  2. What movies would you want to see?  Hocus Pocus, Harry Potter, Twilight!
  3. Food suggestions?  Hot cider, s’mores
Open Forum

  1. Can we get the Mendell/Trumbull rooms open for use like the Common Room?  They would be great study spaces.  It seems like we have space not being used.
  2. Room reservations: look on the branfordcollege.com website
  3. Grad Affiliates study break to come soon
  4. Vivas Night to come soon again
  5. Get piano in Branford Common Room open – maybe have set hours?
