BCC Elections
- Candidacy statements due Wednesday September 9, 2009 at 5pm. Please submit them to Sabrina Karim by emailing her at Sabrina.karim@yale.edu. Questions? Ask her too!
- Elections open Wednesday September 9, 2009 at 9pm and close Friday September 11, 2009 at 9pm.
- Positions open for election include:
- Class reps (2 per class) – attend weekly BCC meetings, help the eboard plan and executive college events, plant at least three class events per semester
- Branford Life Committee Chair – lead the committee in maintaining the improving life in Branford and Vanderbilt, especially regarding facilities and dining
- Spirit Committee Chair – lead the committee in apparel, IM involvement, Branford Invades JE Nights, iDay, and Branford Appreciation Days
- Community Service Committee Chair – lead the committee in planning service-oriented projects in the New Haven community
- Anyone is open to joining any of the above committees as a Committee Member. Sign up sheets were passed around today, and will be again next week.

- Candidacy Statements due tomorrow (Tuesday September 8, 2009) 9pm. (Note: deadline has changed from 5pm to 9pm.)
- Freshman Class Council – 24 freshmen members (2 per college), deal with freshman issues
- Big freshman dance
- Freshman Olympics
- Freshman barbecue
- Laundry issues
- Staff appreciation
- Freshman speaker
- Events pertaining to the college
- Choose 24 people (2 per college)
- Sophomore Class Committee (1 rep)
- Junior Class Committee (1 rep)
Grad Affiliates
- Twelve grad affiliates across Yale’s campus in various faculties (ie. Law, medicine, sociology)
- Host study breaks, take students to basketball games
- Available for advising (Grad affiliates will be setting up advising sessions)
- Provide professor recommendations
- Host classes in pottery studio, printing press
- Names and email addresses will be posted on the BCC bulletin board

Branford Events (SAC Updates)
- RALFs (Right After Lecture Fridays) – barbecuing in the courtyard, hanging out
- Viva’s Nights – rent out back room of Mexican restaurant, hang out, eat nachos
- Branford Screw – big Branford dance of the year
- Crushes and Chaperones – 90s party in Branford
- Independence Day (iDay) – field day in which classes compete in events like saltine eating events, Defender Dome (http://www.bounceorlando.com/interactives.html)
